Recreate Gossip Girl outfits using Rent the Runway

I’ve done a few of these Rent the Runway outfit posts before (with the TV shows Killing Eve and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) but I want to really stress that I crushed this Gossip Girl blog post.

I have found near-perfect replicas of the outfits from Gossip Girl and before we get into the post, I just want to brag about this because I think it’s really well done. Okay, now let’s get into the content.

Serena’s maroon blazer

This blazer is a great match for Serena’s preppy school girl look. I love how Serena always dressed half feminine and half masculine to school, she always pulled it off so well. Maybe it was because she’s actually insanely beautiful or who knows, maybe it was just the outfit. At any rate, now you can replicate it for yourself and see which factor it truly was…

Blair’s plaid green outfit

This green dress is a look that can only be pulled off by the preppiest of fashionistas. Enter: Blair Waldorf. Her original outfit also has a bit of fringe included on it, but I chose this Slate & Willow dress because green plus plaid plus fringe just seemed like a bit much.

Blair’s green paisley dress

This green dress was featured in one of the iconic Hamptons episodes, and was a beautiful classic look. Shockingly enough, Victoria Beckham actually has her own clothing line, and even more shocking is that one of her dresses is a near-perfect match to Blair’s dress.

Serena’s gold evening gown

While this dress is a different shade of gold than Serena’s, the cut and draping on this piece make it a near perfect match to hers. I personally prefer Serena’s gold cotillion dress, since it’s a classic strapless look, but for the more daring (and boob filled) out there, this is a stunning look.

Blair’s silver sequin dress

I love Dress the Population dresses, and this one is a great match to Blair’s look here. This dress was featured in the episode where Serena and Blair pretend to have a cat fight to get revenge on Julia.

God, I miss this show.

Vanessa’s silver evening gown

Vanessa sucked, but this dress was a great piece. In the episode Vanessa wore this, Jenny sabotaged her by shining a light on her dress and having everyone see what Vanessa was wearing underneath. What a bitch.

Anyway, this dupe will certainly have a thick lining and prevent you from any shenanigans from the Jenny’s in your life.

Serena’s coral orange one-shoulder dress

This one shoulder dress was featured in an episode that I watched over 50 times. It was because I bought the episode on iTunes and it would be what I watched over and over again on plane rides. It’s because this episode was when Serena rode away from a polo match on a stolen horse and then hot guy Carter raced after her and they kissed in the woods.

Again, I repeat: I love this show.

Blair’s blue engagement dress (I think?)

This blue dress has the beautiful similarities to Blair’s dress in terms of color, length, style, and “ability to be a bit see-through in some parts and a bit not in others”. (I’m a fashion blogger, baby!)

I think Blair got married or engaged in this dress but to be honest…I’m not sure.

Blair’s classic red dress

This red dress is a stunning classic piece. I dare someone to not look good in this. It’s impossible. This dress is flattering, beautiful, and a number that everyone should have in their closet. The LBD is overrated, it’s time for the Little Red Dress to step into the spotlight.

If you’re interested in joining Rent the Runway (I adore them, I actually pay extra to have 6 spots a month with them, that’s how much I like the service) you can get $100 off your membership for the first two months (that’s only $60 every month) by using my code here.

Let me know if you want any other posts like this, focusing on different TV shows - or showing more outfits from the same.

Best,
